Booking a fast boat from Sanur to Nusa Penida is easy, but there is one detail worth checking before choosing a departure: where exactly the boat arrives on Nusa Penida.
There is no single arrival point used by every fast boat from Sanur. Depending on the operator and service you book, your ticket may take you to Banjar Nyuh, Toya Pakeh, Sampalan or another nearby landing point.
For most travellers this does not change the sea crossing very much. It can, however, make a difference once you get off the boat — particularly if you already have a hotel, driver or tour booked.
Banjar Nyuh is one of the main arrival points
Banjar Nyuh is on the north-western side of Nusa Penida and is used by a number of operators sailing from Sanur.
Current operator information confirms direct Sanur–Banjar Nyuh services from companies including The Angkal Fast Cruise and Arjuna Fast Boat.
It is a convenient arrival point for travellers staying around the north and north-west of the island and for those continuing with a pre-arranged driver.
If your hotel or driver tells you to meet at Banjar Nyuh, check the destination shown on the boat you are booking rather than assuming that every Sanur departure arrives there.
Toya Pakeh is nearby but not the same place
You may also see Toya Pakeh listed when searching for Sanur–Nusa Penida tickets.
Toya Pakeh is another established arrival area on the north-west coast. Current schedules, for example, show Maruti Group services between Sanur and Toya Pakeh.
Banjar Nyuh and Toya Pakeh are in the same general part of Nusa Penida, but they should not be treated as interchangeable when arranging a pickup. Send your driver the exact arrival point from your ticket.
Some boats arrive at Sampalan
Sampalan is farther east along Nusa Penida’s northern coast.
Current schedules include direct services between Sanur and Sampalan, so it is possible to book a Sanur boat that leaves you considerably farther east than Banjar Nyuh or Toya Pakeh.
That can be useful if your accommodation or plans are on the eastern side of the island. Conversely, choosing Sampalan simply because the departure time or fare looks attractive can add unnecessary road travel if you actually need to be in the west.
Check the destination before comparing prices
When comparing fast boats from Sanur, don’t look only at departure time and price.
Check the arrival port shown for the individual sailing as well.
This matters most if you have already arranged accommodation, a private driver, a scooter rental or a tour that starts with a harbour pickup. Sending the exact port name to your driver before leaving Sanur can prevent confusion when you arrive.

Does the arrival port matter for a Nusa Penida day trip?
Usually less than it does for an overnight stay, provided your day tour includes pickup from the port used by your boat.
Before booking separately, however, confirm that your driver knows which boat you are taking and where it arrives.
This has become slightly more important for visitors planning their own Nusa Penida itinerary since 1 September 2026, when Klungkung introduced its new tourism-fee system. Attraction charges can now apply separately at individual tourism sites, so independent travellers have more reason to plan their route rather than simply arriving and deciding everything at the harbour. Your return boat can matter too
Do the same check for the journey back to Sanur.
Your return ticket will state where you need to board on Nusa Penida. Do not rely only on remembering where you arrived, particularly if you bought the two journeys separately or are returning with a different operator.
Allow enough time to reach the correct port. Road journeys on Nusa Penida can take longer than they appear on a map.
Before booking from Sanur
For most travellers, the best approach is simple.
Choose a departure time that works for you, compare the available boats, and then check the exact Nusa Penida arrival point before paying. If you already have a driver or accommodation booked, send them the port name shown on the ticket.
The crossing itself from Sanur is generally around 30–50 minutes, although actual journey times vary by operator, destination port and sea conditions. SANURHARBOUR.id currently lists frequent departures throughout the day.
